The Atlantic Clinical Trials Network (ACTN) leverages regional collaboration, provincial leadership, entreprenuerial capacity, and world-class research to revolutionize access to care for patients. ACTN is driven by agility and the ability to get the right partners to the table at the right time, creating a single point of entry for researchers, partners, and patients.
The network effectively increases our population of patient partners from ~1 million in Nova Scotia to approximately 2.5 million across Atlantic Canada, which will allow us to leverage the unique demographics of the entire Atlantic Canadian region.
Leading the way forward
Coordinating clinical research across Atlantic Canada postitions the region to lead the country in the highest rate of active clinical trials per capita. The Atlantic Canadian provinces already have a national profile in clinical trials – Nova Scotia ranks 1st for the number of active clinical trials per capita in Canada; and New Brunswick has the most oncology clinicial trials per capita in Canada.
